This tour, which will last approximately 3.5 hours, will begin in the heart of the city. After getting comfortable in the air-conditioned bus you will travel through the city with a small group of about 20 people. You will see historic sites such as the headquarters of the National Council of Negro Women, Constitution Hall and the LeDroit Park neighbourhood. You'll also pass the first African-American Dunbar High School, the historic Howard Theatre and Howard University , and the Carter G. Woodson House, the home of the "Father of Black History". You will also see the Abraham Lincoln Memorial and the Martin Luther King Memorial .

In addition, you will have the opportunity to visit many other historic buildings. From the United States Capitol, the White House and the African American Civil War Memorial Museum, to the home of Mary McLeod Bethune, the founder of the National Council of Negro Women in 1935.

Your guide will provide you with relevant information about the history of all these places and the people of the African-American community who were so important to the United States.

At the end of the tour, you will be given tickets to the National Museum of African American Art and Culture . This museum ticket is only available on the day of the tour. Once inside the museum, you will be able to explore all the exhibits until the museum closes.
