Step by Step
This sailing experience in Tampa Bay is an original way to admire the city' sskyline and surrounding natural areas. Unlike other boating activities, by choosing this one you'll get to drive a small F13 speedboat - environmentally friendly and with a 30-horsepower engine - while following your expert guide around the gulf. Along the way, you will enjoy the guide's anecdotes. The activity lasts approximately 2 hours and also includes a life jacket.
Tampa Bay is a natural gulf in the state of Florida. It is surrounded by several cities, the most important of which are St. Petersburg and Clearwater. Human action has shaped this expanse of sea, which is home to several harbours and bridges. Of the latter, the most iconic is the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, the longest concrete cable-stayed bridge in the world.
During the speedboat ride, you can admire the various points of interest in and around the bay:
- Ben T David Beach - The closest beach to downtown Tampa and one of the best places to watch the sunset.
- Picnic Island - A popular destination for locals to sunbathe and swim in the crystal clear waters.
- Apollo Beach Nature Preserve - A natural area popular with birdwatchers
- Weedon Island Preserve - A natural area made up of different marine ecosystems. It is home to hundreds of animal species, especially birds, and is an ideal destination for canoeing enthusiasts. Inside there is a small museum dedicated to the indigenous people who lived in the area.
The speedboat ride gives you the opportunity to see the local wildlife, including dolphins, manatees and a host of birds. Sunscreen is recommended.
