Ready to immerse yourself in the soul of Harlem? The meeting point is at 690 8th Ave, where our expert guide welcomes you to begin this 4-hour bus tour full of history, music and culture. Get ready to discover every corner of this iconic neighbourhood, where you'll also have free time to stop and take as many photos as you like. We tell you more about the step-by-step itinerary of this tour:

  1. First stop: Apollo Theater. The legendary theatre where stars like Ella Fitzgerald were born. Our guide tells us how this place became a symbol of Harlem music and culture.
  2. It's time for the gospel mass, the soul of Harlem. We attend a gospel mass in a local church. Powerful voices, vibrant choirs and an infectious energy will make you feel part of the community, with the guide highlighting the cultural significance of this experience.
  3. We return to the tour. We pass Sugar Hill, home of great artists, and stop at the Morris-Jumel Mansion, the oldest house in Manhattan. We also see the picturesque Sylvan Terrace and the elegant blocks of Strivers' Row, as the guide shares fascinating details about its history.
  4. More about African-American culture. We continue exploring Harlem with a stop at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, a landmark research centre for the community.

With the spirit of Harlem in our hearts and the guide's stories in mind, we return to our starting point. This tour is more than a tour, it's an immersion into the soul of Harlem. Are you up for it?

The mass is good. The tour is a bit short. We would have liked to see more of Harlem's neighbourhoods.

The visit was very pleasant, we learned many things about the neighbourhood, although the time in the gospel mass was very short, to enjoy more of this event we would have to stay longer.
