Step by Step
Celtic Park is one of the oldest and most glorious stadiums in Europe. Opened in 1892 and redeveloped for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, it is known for the great atmosphere inside. This guided tour lasts about an hour and gives you an insight into why it is such a special place. The tour takes you through the changing rooms, the tunnel, the pitch and the press room.
In this last area you will see a short video summarising the exploits of the Scottish team. The most important was the 1966/67 Champions Cup, won 2-1 against Inter Milan at the National Stadium in Lisbon.
Since the 19th century, players of the calibre of Shunsuke Nakamura, Jimmy McGrory and Henrik Larsson have helped forge the team's reputation, bringing thrills and trophies to Celtic fans. The stadium is also home to one of Europe's most famous derbies: the Old Firm. Celtic and Rangers are the most successful teams in the country.
The tour is available at any time of the year, although it depends on match days. There is not a lot of walking involved, but comfortable clothing and footwear is recommended.
