Step by Step
This air-conditioned minibus tour will take you to Teide National Park, a gigantic volcanic caldera surrounded by rivers of petrified lava, endemic flora and craters. An expert guide will explain the characteristics of this lunar and extreme landscape, which has been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Its summit reaches an altitude of 3,718 metres, making it the highest mountain in Spain. Its importance is not only scenic and ecological. It was also of great spiritual importance for the indigenous Canary Islanders, the Guanches. The tour lasts approximately 8 hours and includes pick-up from the main hotels in Adeje, Arona, Golf del Sur, Guía de Isora and Puerto de la Cruz. In addition to the natural park, the itinerary includes other stops:
- Icod de los Vinos - A town in the north of the island linked to the cultivation of vines, especially Malvasia. In fact, the star of the village is the thousand-year-old dragon tree, a tree that only grows in the Canary Islands, the Azores and Cape Verde. This specimen is more than 800 years old.
- Garachico - Tenerife's old trading port. Unfortunately, it was affected by a violent volcanic eruption. Nature's fury also had positive consequences, for example by creating the natural pools of El Caletón. The pools have lifeguards and access ladders.
- Masca - Probably the most beautiful place in the Canary Islands. It is a little gem hidden in an inaccessible valley full of lush palm trees. Masca was a refuge for pirates who found a secluded spot here, perfect for repairing their ships after a storm or dividing up their booty.
The tour does not include lunch, but don't worry, you'll have plenty of time to eat in a bar or restaurant. Bear in mind that Teide is at an altitude of over 3,000 metres, so it is advisable to dress in layers and wear comfortable clothes and shoes.
