Step by Step
On this excursion you will do a route of about 6.5 kilometres that will take you through the Monachil river canyon from Sierra Nevada to Los Cahorros . A van will take you from Granada to Sierra Nevada, where you will start the route. You will also be provided with walking poles to make your journey more comfortable. The estimated duration of the hike is about 3 hours .
The Monachil river canyon is one of the most attractive, easy and popular hiking routes in Granada . The canyon is also a popular area for climbing enthusiasts and an ideal place to enjoy a day in contact with nature.
The excursion will be done in a small group of no more than 12 people. Along the route you will cross suspension bridges and pass by caves, waterfalls, natural rock pools, etc. You can also enjoy the beautiful views of the Sierra Nevada National Park.
The Sierra Nevada area was categorised as a National Park in 1999. It covers about 90,000 hectares of protected space and is annually visited by about 780,000 people. The park is a popular destination for hiking tours, but also for climbing and skiing activities.
It is home to, among other wonders, the Cortijuela Botanical Garden, the Hoya de Pedraza Botanical Centre and the Sierra Nevada Botanical Garden .

Once you arrive at Los Cahorros, you will return to Granada by van, where you will be dropped off at the same place where you were picked up.
