Step by Step

Tickets to this little corner of the Wolski Forest are highly recommended for lovers of the animal kingdom. They also include transport from your hotel to the zoo so you don't have to worry about getting to this animal world on the outskirts of the city. Once you have finished your visit to the zoo and want to return to your accommodation, a vehicle will be waiting to take you back.

Krakow Zoo is home to more than 1,500 animals of some 260 different species. Among others, you will see exotic and impressive animals such as:

  • Snow leopards
  • Maned wolves
  • Amur tigers
  • Small pandas
  • Dwarf hippopotamuses
  • Przewalski's horses
  • Rothschild's giraffes
  • Antelopes
  • Lemurs
  • Indian elephants
  • Humboldt penguins
  • Caracals

The conservation and protection of animals, respecting their natural needs and characteristics, has given the zoo the opportunity to become a member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquariums (EAZA).

The origin of the zoo dates back to the Middle Ages, when there were royal menageries on Wawel Hill. During the reign of Sigismund II, these declined, but other private menageries were established throughout Kraków. This led to the establishment of the Cracow Zoological Garden by members of the Polish Society of Naturalists in 1929.

Water and snacks are also available while enjoying the zoo's wildlife. This plan is ideal for a date with your partner or to go with your family. Children can enjoy and learn a lot from the animals, as well as interact with them in a safe and fun environment.

Beautiful zoo, my daughter left super happy with the visit, on the way back home she couldn't stop talking about the animals she had seen and how amazing and beautiful the giraffes were. We left very happy, we highly recommend the tour if you want to go as a family.

The zoo is bigger than we thought, now we understand why the duration is five hours. It was a good experience, we were quite exhausted at the end of the day, but we had a very nice memory of this place.

A very fun visit, my children couldn't stop running and getting excited every time they saw an animal. We are very happy to have taken them to a place like this, we think it was very educational for them. We also got some beautiful family photos.
