Step by Step

This tour to Ipoh from Kuala Lumpur takes you to one of Malaysia's undiscovered gems. A city surrounded by beautiful natural scenery, temples and structures of British colonial architecture with lots of colour and tradition.

Accompanied by a professional guide, you will spend a full day wandering through castles, caves, temples and beautiful gardens, exclusively and privately with your group. Some of the places you will visit are:

  • Ipoh Railway Station: today it serves as the main railway station. Its beautiful architecture resembles the Taj Mahal.
  • Perak Tong Temple: inside you will see impressive hand-painted murals by the temple's masters, which give it a unique charm.
  • Kellie's Castle: learn the story of the eccentric millionaire owner of this monumental castle, where locals claim to have seen ghostly apparitions.
  • Sam Poh Tong Temple: one of the most beautiful temples in the area, surrounded by fish ponds and bonsai trees on the mountainside.
  • Orang Utan Island: you will board a boat for a short boat ride to this island, where you will get a close look at the incredible orangutans, an endangered species.

Along the way, you'll stop in the old town for a delicious all-inclusive lunch .

To round off the mystical experience in Ipoh, you'll enter the limestone cave and zen gardens of Kek Lok Tong.

You can see a bit of everything in Ipoh, but especially the variety of environments or landscapes from place to place. It really fascinated me. Some seemed to be in swamps and others in the mountains. The Kek Lok Tong Cave Temple gets all my praise!

For what I had been doing during my holidays in Malaysia, I found this tour very relaxing and above all didactic, Ipoh is a place to get to know with time. It was also very personalised which made the experience tailor made. I had a great time.
