Discover the history of Rome with this guided tour of the most important catacombs of Rome with panoramic bus transport. During this tour, you will go through the underground corridors of the catacombs, where you will be able to explore the tombs and crypts of ancient Roman citizens.

Rome is full of ancient underground cemeteries. Please note that your visit to one or other of these sacred sites will depend on the day of the week you have booked:

• Catacombs of St. Callixtus, a vast labyrinth of galleries where some popes and Christian martyrs were buried. They are the most visited in Rome but as they are closed on Wednesdays, if you book your visit for that day of the week the guided tour will take you to the other most important catacombs of the city.
• Catacombs of Domitilla, the largest and oldestcatacombs in Rome, with around 17 kilometres of tunnels and galleries preserving frescoes and an underground basilica.

As you go deep underground, you will be able to admire the architecture and works of art found in these sacred places.

You will learn about the burial practices and religious beliefs of the time from your guide. During the tour, you will have the opportunity to visit the Chapel of the Catacombs, where you will see beautiful frescoes and statues dating back to Roman times. You will also learn more about the daily life of Roman citizens and the importance of religion in their culture.
