- Víti Crater: volcanic crater with deep blue waters inside, surrounded by arid desert landscapes.
- Askja Caldera: deep volcanic caldera and home to the Víti Crater, it is surrounded by mountains and flanked by lava and ash fields.
- Drekagil Gorge: narrow canyon with rock walls and fresh water flowing between them.
- Holuhraun: a lava field formed by a volcanic eruption, with fairly extensive rough and dark terrain.
- Vatnajökull National Park: protected area where Europe's largest glacier, Vatnajökull, is located. It is home to glaciers, waterfalls, mountains and lakes.
