Step by Step

Get out of Strasbourg with this 1-day trip and discover the Alsace region, its villages, vineyards and the Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle. You will be accompanied by a tour guide throughout the whole experience, which lasts about 9 hours. The groups are small, about 8 people, so it will be a more personalised experience.

The furthest village is about 60 km from Strasbourg, but this will not be a problem as all journeys are included in an air-conditioned vehicle. Alsace is known for its wine tradition, its green hills full of vineyards and its quality white wine. The guide will explain all about its history, origins and importance today.

Some of the villages you will visit are Colmar, Eguisheim or Riquewihr. All of them medieval and with a great attraction in terms of the architecture of their houses. In Colmar in particular, you will go on a walking tour with your guide, so you will learn all about its history.

Inside Colmar, you will walk along its cobbled streets and see monuments such as the Church of St. Martin or the 16th century Pfister House. In the other villages, you can see picturesque buildings decorated with flowers or walk inside medieval walls. You will be able to discover them on your own, as you will have some free time.

Another place you will visit is the Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle, built in the 12th century. You will be able to see its interior, including the ancient chambers, while discovering its strategic position.

The castle was one of my favourite visits. It totally exceeded my expectations. The tour is really beautiful and the city is much nicer than the more commercial tourist sites.
