Step by Step

The Normandy region is located in the north-west of France, and this 1-day tour will help you learn about its connection to the Second World War. Including return journeys, this tour lasts about 14 hours. These journeys, along with the ones you make once you arrive in Normandy, are included in the tour.

In particular, a tour guide will accompany you throughout the tour and to all the monuments. Also included is a 2-course lunch from a nearby harbour restaurant, 1 glass of cider and a tasting of traditional apple cider from a local farmer (not available on Sundays).

Tour groups are limited to a maximum of 25 people and as part of this group you will visit such important sights as Omaha Beach, the American Cemetery and the Utah Beach Landing Museum. Omaha Beach is one of the beaches where American troops landed in 1944 in World War II. Many of these soldiers are still buried there today.

Very close to this beach is the American Cemetery, where the nearly 10,000 Allied soldiers who fought on these beaches during World War II are commemorated. But inside the cemetery you will not only find graves, you will also be able to see the amazing memorial and the great wall of the missing soldiers.

On the other hand, you will learn how history unf olded during the Battle of Normandy at the Utah Beach Landing Museum. Specifically, you will learn about the preparation of the Alliance soldiers, what happened during the battle, how the two sides advanced and much more.

You'll learn all of this while being placed inside a German bunker on the landing beach itself. As you can see, this tour will allow you to imagine what the Allied soldiers had to go through during the almost 3 months that the battle lasted. Many lives were sacrificed and that is why they are commemorated in all these monuments.

My children loved the collection of letters from the soldiers and the view of the plane. Everyone was able to enjoy what interested them most. Personally, the food and the cemetery were the most interesting.

It was a very well thought out package. The bus trip was comfortable, the D-Day beaches, the farm and the cider tasting. We had the exact time to do everything but it was very complete.
