Step by Step
This fully guided tour will introduce you to one of the most important parts of Paris' history, namely its creation. The capital was initially founded on an island known today as the Île de la Cité, in the heart of the city.
You will learn all about these first settlements thanks to the tour guide who will accompany you. What's more, the information will be totally reliable as the guides are always local and accredited. This way, you will be able to enjoy the walks around the Ile de Cité during the 3 hours that the tour lasts, and with groups of maximum 20 people.
Not only will you learn about the history of Paris, but you will also visit some of the capital's most famous monuments around the island. You will visit the exterior of the Notre Dame Cathedral observing its incredible gothic style all around its architecture. You will also see the restoration and changes made to the cathedral after its fire in 2019.
Along the way you will visit two other iconic monuments which you will be able to access. One of them is the Sainte Chapelle, a small chapel where 80% of the walls are covered with stained glass. In this way, you will see a beautiful and unforgettable view as the light enters the room. On the other hand, you will enter La Conciergerie, a medieval palace that was later used as a prison.
This monument is very important because many French nobles were arrested in its cells during the French Revolution. Among them was Marie-Antoinette, who awaited her fate on the guillotine in a narrow cell, which you can access in this prison.
