Explore Finland's largest city with this approximately 5-hour guided tour of Helsinki and Suomenlinna Island. Enjoy this half-day tour in groups of about 30 people and take advantage of the pick-up service from your hotel. Board an air-conditioned bus and in the company of a local guide see popular attractions such as the majestic Helsinki Cathedral .
You will then board a ferry to Suomenlinna, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to learn about its history and its many natural attractions.
During this tour you will make a few stops to visit some places of interest, such as the Helsinki Olympic Stadium, where the 1952 Summer Olympic Games took place. Take a look outside the stadium and then head into Esplanade Park to see its many sculptures, including the incredible monument to Jean Sibelius, the famous Finnish composer.
From the comfort of your seat you will also see other monuments such as:
- The Equestrian Statue of Marshal Mannerheim.
- The imposing Finnish Parliament building .
- The iconic Train Station, a true Art Noveau jewel.
- And the impressive National Museum of Finland, which exhibits prehistoric artefacts, medieval treasures and symbols of the 20th century.
Your second stop will be at Senate Square, where you will see the majestic façade of the Lutheran Helsinki Cathedral. Take the opportunity to visit the interior of this evangelical church and take a closer look at its typical orthodox decorations.
Visit the Old Market and then head to the harbour to board a ferry. Enjoy the beautiful sea views and once you disembark, take a walking tour of Suomenlinna. Walk around this fortified island to visit the wharf barracks and continue the tour until you reach Suomenlinna Church, beautiful for the vivid turquoise tones of its roofs and steeple.
