You'll delve into its pre-Hispanic and colonial past all the way to the most modern and contemporary landmarks, accompanied by a professional guide who is an expert in history, in a tour that lasts approximately seven hours.
Famous for its exquisite and diverse gastronomy, amazing nature and energetic nightlife, you will discover the wonders of the region by visiting must-see sites, among them:
- La Candelaria: this old colonial neighbourhood of cobblestone streets is full of murals, restaurants and artisan markets. It was frequented by the writer García Márquez.
- Monserrate cable car: you will be at 3,152 metres above sea level, on Monserrate mountain, after climbing it by cable car. You will see a beautiful church and spectacular panoramic views.
- Teatro Colón: ballet, opera and concerts are some of the shows offered by this theatre, which has more than 100 years of history and is famous for its beautiful neoclassical architecture.
- Gold Museum: here you will see one of the largest collections of pre-Columbian gold in the world, with more than 55,000 pieces, as well as ceramics, stone and textiles.
- Plaza de Bolívar: this is Bogotá's main square, located in the heart of the historic centre, next to the Primada Cathedral, the National Capitol and the Palace of Justice, which surround it.
- Parque Santander: this space full of gardens, cycle paths and reading areas is one of the locals' favourites for socialising. Inside is the Virgilio Barco Library.
- Botero Museum: when you visit this museum you will see masterpieces by the artist Fernando Botero, with impressive paintings and sculptures. There are also works by Monet, Picasso, Dalí and Renoir.
- Casa Museo Quinta de Bolívar: have a different time visiting the former residence of the liberator Simón Bolívar, which is now a historical museum with objects of the time.
- International Emerald Museum: learn about the region's minerals by accessing an impressive collection of pre-Columbian and colonial jewellery.
- Casa de la Moneda (Mint): see the wonderful coin-pressing machines and view large quantities of ancient coins on this unforgettable visit.
- Plaza del Chorro del Quevedo: surrounded by restaurants, small craft shops and street art murals.
For this particular excursion you can choose between three options: the tour with tickets to the Botero Museum and the Gold Museum; the tour with a ticket for the Monserrate cable car and the tour with tickets to both museums and the cable car.
