Step by Step
The Vancouver Art Gallery is a highly recommended attraction for art lovers. This cultural space is dedicated to local artists, with a special focus on painter Emily Carr. Born in 1871, she was inspired by the art of indigenous peoples, creating works such as "Red Cedar" and "Above the Gravel Pit". By choosing this offer you can enter without queuing and listen to the explanations of a free audio guide.
Admission includes both the permanent galleries and temporary exhibitions. It is advisable to consult the programme and choose to enrich your trip with a visit to an exhibition.
The art gallery is housed in an elegant neoclassical building that once housed the courthouse. In addition to the works of art, there is a gift shop and a bistro with a pleasant outdoor terrace.
The museum is easily accessible by public transport. You can opt for the underground (which in the Canadian city is called Canada Line - SkyTrain) and get off at Vancouver City Centre station. Other major attractions such as Georgia Street and the Hotel Vancouver are just a few metres away.
